The first eight are of the superb meal at the Riverside Hotel, Pennal
enjoyed by no less than 41 members. Four towards the end of this set of photographs show a combined birthday party and Sunday School trip. All the children sang carols in the train on the return to Corris, and in the Museum afterwards. A lovely way to end the weekend!  Thank you!

In the shed, buffers were the order of the day for Graham Farley & John Reynard.
02
Waggon "C" is now ready to be returned to the outside world.

Graham just finishing off the fitting of the second buffer on Carriage 21.
130022
The main focus of this weekend was the planned work on the slate wall at Maes-y-Llan. All materials were transported on the Lydd bogie waggon (218).
130024
Everyone soon got to work using the slate that had been left on site and just the other side of the fence.
130035
Andrew Rawlins & Steve Parr worked together laying the slate whilst Adrian Britchford manned the mixer. Chris Britchford and Alf & Jill Oxford  sourced the material.
130036
"Going up ...".
140040
Sunday morning saw a local mist that signalled a further drop in temperature.
140042
The cold did not stop the work continuing and here Andrew Rawlins can be seen testing out our yet to be patented water course.
140048
Having increased the wall height, Jill & Chris and Alf (driving) needed to fetch a bench for Andrew & Steve to work off as they could not reach the top of the wall easily.
140050
That's better. Andrew laying the slate with Steve keeping up the supply of mortar for him. Jill doing some pointing, I think.
140051
Pretty much the end of the weekend - just finishing off the slope at the South end of the wall.

Just time for the "Nov 2004 group photo" (Jill behind the camera) ...

Having moved Van 220 down to the North Loop Siding extension, one job left for Richard Greenhough to do was to dismantle and remove the 2' 6" track panel on which it was stored on the Upper Corris Tramway.

2
Graham Farley came to the sheds this weekend too and continued his work on buffers using the lathe in the workshop.

3
Adrian Britchford continued the conversion of waggon 213 to become a very useful drop-sided vehicle ...

... again using the workshop equipment to the full.

3b
Waggon 213 was then moved out of the sheds onto the ballast siding. Here you can see the newly fitted uprights - now with cleats

4
Keith Davis and Jill Oxford tidied up the new site for the oil tanks removing the butyl coverings and excess rubble from the site.

5
Richard with Dave Quinton then set to to move the second bogie from the side of the track and remove the wheelsets for regauging.

With wheelsets removed the bogie needed to be jacked up to allow a flatbed waggon to put underneath ...

01
Work has continued in the area that will house the oil tanks.
02
Van 220 was left on the line between the Upper Corris Tramway turnout and the Signal Box for removal of the 2' 6" bogies. Here you can see that they have already been removed and Van 220 now sits on one of our waggons (201).
03
The first bogie from van 220 was jacked up and slid off to the side of the track for temporary storage prior to re-gauging
04
Once the line towards the main yard area was clear, Van 220 was very carefully shunted towards the platform - It's first real trip on Corris metals.
05
At a snail's pace the heritage stock with Van 220, pulled by No. 5, was hauled Northwards.
06
And it was then brought onto the North Loop Siding to be stored.
07
Van 220 slowly approaches the head of the storage siding. ...
08
... to take up its position next to the CAT carriage.
09
Here you can also see a length of the dual gauge track allowing both 2' 3" and 2' 6" vehicles to be moved short distances.
10
Andy Cooper and Adrian Britchford, then set to in jacking up the other bogie from Van 220 to move it off the track for storage.
11
Our well used Armco was brought into use again to enable the bogie to be slid sideways, off the track.
12
Both bogies now sit alongside the track awaiting re-gauging to 2' 3".
13
Toby Driver and Rebecca Charnock chose the Corris Railway as a treat for family and friends to celebrate the 1st Birthday of son Charlie.
14
The yard at Maespoeth was pretty much full of parents and children all clutching balloons and flags provided by the Railway.
15
And perhaps the most important passenger of the day - Charlie himself with Toby.
16
All of the children and parents rejoined the train after having a drink of squash and a good look around Maespoeth Yard.
17
A later train carried a disabled passenger and her partner. Carriage 21 and the ramps at both ends put to good use.
18
The end of the day - a quiet Maespoeth Yard and a chance to admire the colourful plants on Maespoeth Platform.

01
Work continued on the new position for the new oil tanks.
02
Material was passed down for mixing on-site.
03
While in the Engine Shed Graham Farley turned out more buffers.
04
Geoff Dunne and Andy Cooper created more storage space inside the North East corner of the Engine Shed.
05
Not much to look at but the cab of Number 8 is being made in a wood template for fabrication off-site.
06
Ken Manning strimmed along the head shunt for us.
07
Peter Guest attended to the new Brake Van 220.
08
Preparations were made to move the 2' 6" gauge Brake Van 220 down to the yard level.
09
And with a good push and a brake man inside it moved fairly easily at first.
10
Brake Van 220 was reluctant to leave the Upper Corris Tramway.
11
Channeling was used to provide the "third rail" at one point..
12
Oh, and by the way. We also ran a full weekend of passenger services.

The slate of "Tedrian's Wall" was carefully cut back to give a good clean edge. Keith Davis almost disappearing in the dust.

A piece of history was uncovered by the works - here you can see Richard Greenhough carefully uncovering the remains of the siding that led off the Upper Corris Tramway.

4090024
Some spoil was tipped at the end of the siding and in the background you can just see our excavator tipping the bulk of it at Brynllwyd Crossing.

At Maespoeth alongside the conventional timetable we now have a splendid "Olde Worlde" version in Welsh & English.

4090031
Towards the end of the day the mini digger could only just reach some of the material to be excavated leaving some to be removed by hand.

4100034
In the Engine Shed work continued restoring and servicing waggons

4100036
To get some of the waggons into the Engine Shed some shunting had to take place and here you can see that the North Loop Siding was full at one time.

4100038
Some attention was also paid to the turnouts within the yard at Maespoeth.

4100040
Graham Farley was busy turning out four new buffers on the recently commissioned lathe.

4100044
And further storage racking was constructed at the North end of the Engine Shed.
