New enamel badge to raise funds for “FALCON” Locomotive Fund. |
As part of its fund-raising towards the construction of its new steam locomotive number 10, a 21st Century recreation of the original 19th Century Saddle Tank engines in their 0-4-2 wheel arrangement form, the Corris Railway Society has produced another new enamel badge.
The
badge which is approximately 35 mm wide by 25 mm deep is bordered by the Corris
Railway’s Garter crest with profile of number 10 in the centre. The badge is
pale blue in colour with gilt lettering whilst the image of number 10 is in red,
black and gilt.
Peter Guest, who is heading the new locomotive project commented: “The badge is an attractive foretaste of what we are seeking to create over the next few years as part of the ongoing revival of the Corris Railway and revenue from sales will help to move us forward towards the day when we start construction of the new engine”.
The badges can be purchased from the shop at Corris Station on the Railway’s operating days or by post for £3.75 including postage and packing from CRS, 42 Bluebell Close, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 3XQ. Cheques should be made payable to Corris Railway. They will also be on sale at the Corris’ Model Railway and Toy Exhibition at the Community Centre in Machynlleth on August 23rd, 24th and 25th.
