Progress of the Tattoo Locomotive Manufacture.

CHARITABLE GIVING

To recover tax on any donation you make to the Locomotive Appeal you are asked to sign a Charitable Giving Declaration which affirms you are a UK taxpayer. The declaration will cover any donation you make in the future. The four year rule which applied to covenants is now scrapped and you can make small donations each month for any period of time. A Standing Order mandate can be used to assure the Fund of the money.

REDDITCH WALKATHON 2000 FUND RAISING RESULT

The final, final total for the walk was £533 and the donations were in aid of the cost of the cylinder draincocks.

WINSON ENGINEERING

LOCOMOTIVE MANUFACTURE

1) CONSTRUCTION

Stage one of the construction of the locomotive is nearly at an end with the slide bars and cross heads recently completed. The following work is outstanding:- (1) completion of motion, valve gear & reverser, (2) brakes, (3) buffing & draw gear, (4) cylinder drain cocks.

It has been agreed that the second stage be the completion of the boiler.

2) VISIT TO WINSON ENGINEERING

The next meeting at Winson Engineering will be in June, 2001. The exact date will be announced in the Spring Edition of the Corris-Pondent. If you should require information about the location of the factory in Daventry please send me a stamped addressed envelope and I will let you have a map (courtesy of KBR Printing). SECOND-HAND MODEL RAILWAY ITEMS & SECOND-HAND RAILWAY BOOKS

If there is any member who happens to have unwanted Hornby Dublo, Triang, Wrenn, Lima, Airfix etc Model Railway items in their attic and would like to donate them for the Fund please contact me.

FUTURE MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITIONS

Bournville Model Railway Show at Bournville School, Northfield, Birmingham on Sat. 24th February.

The 7mm card kit of No. 4 is still available at £2.50 plus postage.
