A delivery of timber for waggon underframes arrived so the first job was to carry it down for storage in the carriage shed. Dewi and Ian take a minute before starting on the main jobs for the weekend.
By Saturday mid-morning the scene is very industrious with Dick preparing slats for the seat bases and backs being cut out by Richard. Meanwhile Ian is making full use of the mobile dust extraction unit he created.
Dewi takes a break from working on brake components in the engine shed.
Ian is well on with fitting the handle unit to one of the sliding doors for carriage 22.
Meanwhile Ade was busy continuing the fabrication of the body skeleton for carriage 23.
Richard's task for the weekend was seat surfaces and backs for the tip up seats.
Ian modelling the fitted sliding door handle. These were acquired some time ago in unpolished form by John Reynard. we have enough in stock for all the carriages currently under construction.
Sunday morning, Richard is feeling the early morning chill. All he needs is a fishing rod and a toadstool to sit on!
