2016 Photograph Archive

Photographs taken between 19th & 25th October 2016

Saturday, 22.10.2016. Charles and Sue “man” the Museum …
… as No. 11 brings the first train of the day into Corris …
… where a knot of members congregate on the platform as departure time nears.

The train arrives at Maespoeth …
… where No. 7 is on static display as later, No. 11 prepares …
… to depart back to Corris.

Recently, new lights have been fitted in the stable to better illuminate the displays there.
In the Engine Shed, Andy is fettling and fitting components to the last of the bogie stretchers for carriage Nos. 23 & 24 …
… while Trefor works on loco No. 6 nearby.

A blast from the past appears – Vince.
The light is fading as we await the1840 special for the AGM...
No. 7 sits quietly in the engine shed.

The train with participants for the AGM arrives at Maespoeth.
After the AGM in the Carriage Shed, No. 11 and train head back to Corris – a chance to practice lamp signals!
Another night scene at Maespoeth – while waiting for the return of the AGM train to Maespoeth for putting away for the night.

Sunday, 23.10.2016. Richard and Trefor check arrangements in No. 7’s valve chest in preparation for the winter programme of work.
Monday, 23.10.2016. Tony is caught by a creepy photographer, while trimming our hedge!
Tuesday, 25.10.2016. Neil and John prepare to fit a bench seat …

... in part of the Brake compartment of carriage No. 20 …
… while Chris, Steve and Bob work on its brake gear, including …
… making and fitting a new brake handle.

Just as some are about to go home, a lorry arrives …
… with a batch of ex-Corris, ex-Talyllyn turnouts from Tywyn …
… which interrupts cleaning and priming of brake gear components from one of the bogie bolsters – but not for long!

Wednesday, 19.10.2016. The duct for the Hydro-electric cable has reached our land, after threading over one water and one gas main, and here passes under another water main …
Monday, 24.10.2016. … before continuing under our future trackbed …
… checking it is deep enough not to bother us at a later date …

Tuesday, 25.10.2016. … and protected by heavy duty tape!
