Photographs taken between 18th & 30th August 2018

Saturday, 18.8.2018. During the past week, the rodding to the turnouts forming the south cross-over at Maespoeth …
… has been reconfigured although not yet all connected up.
To commemorate 70 years since the last train ran on the original Corris Railway, No. 7 carried a Special headboard …

… on every train until (and including) 20th August.
Andy has arrived …
… to fit a good few sections on the body of carriage No. 23 …

… and ponder on how we are going to move an immobile Ade around the Carriage Shed on 1st September. Meinir demonstrates the solution!
Andy trims a section previously prepared by Bill …
… and checks it fits!

By late afternoon, moisture had descended, making for atmospheric photos!
Monday, 20.8.2018. At the end of the day, No. 7 is watered as the carriages are removed to the Carriage Shed …
… and Richard attacks the hedge on the Upper Corris branch siding …

… as mist rolls in from below!
Saturday, 25.8.2018. During the week, Bob has turned more buffers castings to take the shafts and heads.
The weather has been good today …

Sunday, 26.8.2018. … but it was all change the following day, as Peter gets a rare chance to drive No. 6 to collect the carriages from the Shed.
The yard is very atmospheric in the rain …
… but there is time to add the birthday headboard ready for Ruby!

The first train of the day departs Maespoeth.
Tuesday, 28.8.2018. Bob is boring again …
… and by the end of the day, we have 6 buffers prepared.

Stevie and friend has brought along his penny farthing.
The view from the train of the new walling works adjacent to the school in Corris.
Meanwhile, at Maespoeth, Tony and Peter prepare and prime replacement timber fence palings …

… as the footplate crew are engrossed in deep conversation!
The view forward from the rear of the train as it nears Corris.
Thursday, 30.8.2018. Tony and Peter have fixed a broken plank outside the Engine Shed …

… and painted a number of replacement fence palings.
Near Pont Evans, the tree felling under the BETWS project has now become visible from the railway (and road) …
… and in Corris, the new walling of the school boundary for the station project, is progressing.
