One door lock fitted – one more to go (on carriage No. 23)!

Meanwhile, there is a good crowd to watch the first home game of the re-formed Corris United Football team (as seen from the train). Pity it ended in a brawl (the Away team have been reported to the League)!

Andy has reached the other end of carriage No. 24, and is securing the bogie retaining bolts to the frames …

Sunday, 1.9.2019. It is a fine, sunny morning (unlike yesterday), so the final stages of No. 7’s preparation take place outside …

In the Carriage Shed, John is sanding down “pencil” marks in the saloon of carriage No. 23 …

… after marking out timber for cutting as fence palings …

… and producing biomass for ?…

Andy leads the way by example, cleaning up the mess he created yesterday …

… as Bob brings the Heritage waggons down on to the train before heading for Corris …

… where the sun produces a dappled effect.

Back at Maespoeth, John has moved on to sanding the seats of marks …

… while Andy bolts up more components to another carriage bogie.

Tuesday, 3.9.2019. Tony has painted two carriage handrails in black gloss, and has moved on to gloss the brake hangers …

… while Charles gets the measure of the vestibule door in carriage No. 23.

Thursday, 5.9.2019. Tony finishes off gloss black on the carriage handrails …

… before moving on to prime the completed vestibule handrail …

… and various air brake fittings fabricated previously by Bob and Chris …

… before moving on to clean up and prime components for the 2-plank Private Owner waggon restoration …

… and dropping a Clanger!

Meantime, Adrian has cut out and modified the South end of carriage No. 24 for use as a First Class observation car, as agreed by our carriage sponsor over the weekend.
