Wednesday, 30.8.2023. No. 7 is steamed for a coach party Special ...

... and in the late afternoon a classic lorry pulls up at Maespoeth (with a long queue of cars behind it) ...

A ramp is soon constructed ...

... and No. 6 and barrier waggon brought up ...

... and attached to No. 10, and the whole assembly gently lowered under very close observation!

Once off the unloading ramp, No. 10 is given a thorough examination for any damage that might have occurred on it's travels from Ross on Wye ...

... and is then propelled towards the Engine Shed with the historic movement recorded by a battery of recording devices!

It is soon stabled in its new home ...

... where about the first action was for Graham to fit his brass works plates ...

... which look superb!

After much preparation, No. 10 is steamed and undertakes limited movements (light engine) along part of the line, here posing alongside the historic water crane on the Engine Shed wall as Andy takes a close look inside the cab. It is raining!

Andy has brought with him, various components for fitting to carriage No. 24 in due course.

No. 10 came supplied with an appropriate mat ...

...before the loco disappears in a cloud of steam as Patrick Keef pockets his phone after taking a photo of the loco in use.

No. 10 then heads up the line again ...

... before wandering around all the trackage it will normally be using - just to ensure there are no issues. The weather has improved!

It is soon time for it to join No. 7 for the night once more ...

... where it receives much fuss - but Vince (who largely built the loco) looks very pleased!

Friday, 1.9.2023. No. 10 has just returned from a 2-carriage test working to Corris ...

... the other carriages being partially stabled in the Engine Shed.

As No. 10 runs around, it certainly looks the part!

With all four carriages in tow, Patrick Keef drives the first test complete passenger train towards Corris ...

... with Dave driving for the return working - the sheep are undisturbed!

With the carriages put away, No. 10 is watered at the traditional watering point. The lower running plate proves why the relevant window cill is worn on one corner!

No. 7 is retrieved and coupled up, while No. 10 is blown down ...

... before being coaled up (showing the hinged cab sheet to create easy access).

The two locos are then posed together outside the Engine Shed.

Saturday, 2.9.2023. Today is a normal operating day, with No. 11 in charge on a Diesel Day ...

... and Paul cleaning up the Brio train for (mostly) younger passengers' entertainment!
