Wednesday, 30.8.23. The low-loader carrying the Falcon locomotive has been reversed to the head of the Upper Corris Tramway ready for offloading.

After a great deal of care the loco is safely on Corris metals for the very first time.

... and looking splendid in the afternoon sunshine.

The loco is reversed down the Upper Corris Tramway using the power of No. 6 to be totally in control of the descent and then brought into the yard ...

... to be housed in the engine shed for the night.

Thursday, 31.8.2023. Next morning gives an opportunity to take in the fact that we now have two steam locomotives housed in the engine shed and provides a view from the mezzanine floor looking down onto the latest addition to the fleet.

Being able to get just a little higher to take this photograph gives a clear view of the salter safety valves etc.

Ian and Trefor sit and take in all of the very impressive engineering work that has been performed by Patrick Keef and his team at Alan Keef Limited, with some items fabricated by Corris volunteers.

With other stock outside a good opportunity is provided to have a really good look around.

Patrick and Richard move the Falcon loco to alongside the water tower.

... where the first day is primarily used to watch, listen and check for clearances as a light engine and basically make sure that everything is just the way it should be ... and it is - also the crew gain invaluable shunting experience.

Friday, 1.9.2023. Carriages were added during the day, mostly empty admittedly, to give the Falcon loco some work to do ...

.. so that runs to Corris Station and back could be undertaken, again checking all manner of clearances and providing the crew with first hand experience of driving the loco.

Once at Corris, No. 10 had its first use of the traverser to enable it to be repositioned at the other end of the train formation.

It is a wet end to the day so the loco provides a certain amount of atmosphere as it moves around the yard and prepares to go back into the engine shed.

The cab plate says it all really apart from "Welcome No. 10".
