Photographs taken between 25th July & 30th August 2026

Saturday, 25.7.2026. It is a glorious sunny day (again) as No. 11 departs Maespoeth with the empty coaching stock for Corris ...

... but by afternoon, we have our first (light) rain in weeks - No. 10 was on display outside.

Sunday, 26.7.2026. The cloud has come in, hiding the mountains! (The view up the valley from Maespoeth).

Sunday, 2.8.2026. Trefor backs No. 10 out of the Engine Shed before services commence.

Tuesday, 4.8.2026. The diesel locos are lined up, ready for tanks (and bowser) to be re-filled from a road vehicle.

Sunday, 9.8.2026. Well, it isn't, but this was as close as Andrew was going to get to drive on his birthday!

It was very hot, and one of No. 10's injectors is wrapped in a soaked cloth to cool it down to allow steam operations to continue.

Andrew and Paul sit down on the job as they lock up the traverser for the day, overseen by Clare!

Tuesday, 18.8.2026. A consignment of timber has been delivered in preparation for the Work Week.

Saturday, 22.8.2026. Ian (amongst others) stains the new timber at Maespoeth in preparation for later use.

John has fabricated a slow cooker to sit on No.10's manifold, to slow cook his lunch ...

... and shares it out for the train crew at Corris!

Jack is visited by one of his work mates and partner, who help out with traversing No. 10 towards the end of the day.

Monday, 24.8.2026. Mark gives the new seating benches in the Mess Room a coat of paint before upholstering (and fitting)!

Wednesday, 26.8.2026. Mark stands aside from timber staining work, as No. 10 moves off shed prior to operating a "Special" for a coach party.

The old (partially collapsed) drain under the buttresses to the Engine Shed has been dug out, a new one laid to outfall, and the whole covered over again - much safer - but mind your head!

Waggons have been collected to load fresh hedge cuttings from the churchyard hedge in Corris.

Friday, 28.8.2026. There is a queue, as trestle tables are loaded into a van for use at the Model Railway Exhibition in Machynlleth ...

... where they are soon set out ready for exhibitors and sales stands.

Sunday, 30.8.2026. The weekend is very busy both in the MRE, at Maespoeth ...

... and at Corris, where Joe held the fort!

It was good to see Charles and Neill with a layout at Machynlleth over the weekend ...

... Ian signing books ...

... and good progress fitting timber coverings and glass in carriage No. 24 at Maespoeth by Andy!
