Tuesday, 16.12.2025. The Carriage Shed is quickly cleared of Santa paraphernalia ...

... and work benches, etc., reinstated.

Tuesday, 23.12.2025. Over the weekend, a good supply of hardwood sleepers have been delivered.

Saturday, 27.12.2025. In a first for us, a post-Christmas train service was successfully operated ...

... on Samuel's birthday (as it happened) ...

No. 10 makes a spectacular start from Maespoeth on the last "Up" train of the day.

Friday, 2.1.2026. To make working room in the Engine Shed, No. 7's boiler is temporarily moved out to the Waggon Shelter.

Sunday, 4.1.2026. Overnight, we had a bit of crisp and even!

No. 10 is also receiving attention and being prepared for the cold boiler test.

Most of the outside platform furniture was taken to the Carriage Shed for drying out, and refurbishment as necessary, over the winter.

Friday, 30.1.2026. Joe attacks the rear door of the Signal Cabin; the mortise lock developed a fault no-one on site had ever seen before, so it was a case of breaking in!

Meanwhile in the Carriage Shed, Jay and Ryder are drilling a hole through the west wall to house a duct to take revised (tidier and more secure) telephone and data link cabling routes ...

... while outside, a gang dig out the Maespoeth North Accommodation Crossing for yet more ducts.

Saturday, 31.1.2026. Quite a gang are on site in pouring rain, to dig out the track outside the Engine Shed to replace rotten sleepers ...

... while Graham Morris has visited to carry out cold exams of both steam locomotive boilers.

In the Carriage Shed, Thomas and Peter are preparing items for new cable routes to feed into the new duct.

Phil has made temporary dummy axles to enable No. 7's motion to be set up accurately, and are tried for size and alignment checked.

Excavation of the track leading into the Engine Shed is almost complete, and a new duct is incorporated in the work to feed into the S&T Shed. It is still raining!

Monday, 2.2.2026. The track and new ducts outside the Engine Shed have been fully reinstated and filled around - just as the rain is easing.

Inside the undercroft of the Signal Box, a new work bench has been established for minor S&T work and material storage. It has been quite a long weekend!
