Description
Originally to contribute to the railway’s fund-raising towards the construction of its new steam locomotive No. 10, a 21st Century recreation of the original 19th Century Saddle Tank engines in their 0-4-2 wheel arrangement form, the Corris Railway Society has stock of an enamel badge depicting the “Falcon” locomotive; The new locomotives was indeed delivered in September 2023 and proceeds now go towards the ongoing maintenance of the locomotive.
The badge which is approximately 35 mm wide by 25 mm deep is bordered by the Corris Railway’s Garter crest with profile of number 10 in the centre. The badge is pale blue in colour with gilt lettering whilst the image of number 10 is in red, black and gilt.
