Tuesday, 15.2.2022. A new delivery of ballast arrives, with the lorry removing further dug out material.
Both end plinths for the traverser are concreted and left to set.
The site looking towards the traverser.
The levelling now starts to show how much has needed to be removed.
Wednesday, 16.2.2022. The ballast is started to be levelled out....
Until it almost reaches the Traverser location.
Thursday, 17.2.2022. As the ballast is levelled, the roller trundles over the area and the levels are rechecked..
Slowly the ballast is widened and the levels checked. The LH Traverser plinth can now be seen.
The trackbed is edging closer to completion.
The tweaking to get it level continues.
Friday 18.2.2022. After almost a week of working in very wet and stormy weather this shows the end result of the reinstatement of the ballast with the traverser to the right of the photo and the Corris Point ahead.
With the ballast complete, work is switched back to the Traverser pad to protect the far edge and to add a drain.....
Saturday, 19.2.2022. In fairly wet conditions rail is prepared to be loaded ready for the weekend of track laying.
Using a winch to do the heavy work may take a little longer but it is worth it and cuts out a lot of lifting.
Once the rail was loaded attention turned to the sleepers still awaitng preparation.
Whilst track was being loaded, Point 2 at Maespoeth Junction received further work and adjustment.
