Monday, 30.8.2021. Brakes are being tested as No. 7 prepares to take the first train of the day up the line, with correct lamp code for empty coaching stock ...

... and No. 11 pushes No. 4 out of the Engine Shed ...

... so that the two locomotives can be viewed by our visitors.

A Family Affair in the museum today The Arnolds - (LtoR) Kate, Jack, Jane and John. (JA)

Who do we see coming up the hill doing a tour to Corris - It is Steve on his 1950s push bike. (JA)

Shelves in the museum are all ready for trade and within half an hour putting some new books on the shelves one was sold (JA)

At the end of the day, Steff reappears and re-acquaints herself with loco No. 6 (under supervision) to shunt the locomotives into a different order ...

... so that with its remaining steam, No. 7 can then haul No. 4 into the Engine Shed.

In the meantime, Ian has arrived with the first part consignment of timber floor planks for the P Way van's new floor.

The new garage in Corris appears to be hosting some customers!

Tuesday, 31st August 2021. It is all go in the Carriage Shed as Bill supervises the fitting of timber components to the body frame of carriage No. 24 ...

... while Tony fills the screw heads in where they will be over-painted.

Nearby, Tony is painting Heritage and new waggon parts ...

... and even Bob (normally in the Engine Shed workshop) joins in, drilling and tapping holes to secure timber sections to the carriage frame ...

... after positioning the new bench to take point rollers emerging from the Signal Box (to control whip in the initial rods).

Meanwhile, out on the track, No. 4 has been steamed to participate in a video ...

... and with freight train in tow, arrives at Corris ...

... before heading back to Maespoeth.

Before long, after re-positioning cameras each time, No. 4 and train heads back up the line (twice) ...

... before it can be put to bed.

Wednesday, 1.9.2021. A really early start this morning, with No. 4 in steam ...

... together with No. 7, with Stevie polishing brass work ...

... while Andrew fetches the carriages.

With two engines in steam, the vents and chimney in the Engine Shed roof are working overtime!

Unfortunately, there is a delay as we await our Guard as a blue tipper lorry ceases to be one at the railway bridge in Machynlleth, closing the Trunk Road for several hours and the railway for slightly longer. Fortunately, many of the photographers were on the wrong side too, and the Llanwrin road (B4404) is closed for road works - but the Aberangell road re-opened at the weekend. Nevertheless, No. 4 heads north with passenger train within minutes of Steve arriving ...

... and No. 7 emerges from the Engine Shed a few minutes later.

After photographing the passenger train around Corris, the group arrive to photograph No. 7 on a freight train performing run-pasts ...

... but they want the composition re-arranged, so it is down to hand shunting!

No. 4 then poses with the freight train, while No. 7 storms past on the passenger (and vice-versa) ...

... until it is time for lunch.
