MIDSUMMER MODELLERS DAY AT MAESPOETH JUNCTION |
The next special event day in the Corris Railway’s programme to celebrate its 150th Anniversary takes place on Sunday June 21st when the Railway is hoping to welcome railway modellers, particularly those with an interest in narrow gauge railways, to a chance to get up close to its rolling stock.
Apart from steam locomotive number 7 and the carriages which will form the passenger trains on the day between Corris Station and Maespoeth Junction (and which are the only access to Maespoeth) the rest of the Corris stock will be accessible for those who would like to measure, photograph, or draw the wagons, diesel locomotives and other items for themselves with view to producing their own models in due course. The first train will leave Corris at 11.00 a.m. and the last departure from Maespoeth will be at 4.45 p.m.
To coincide with the Modelling Day the Railway has also produced more scale drawings of its stock and structures and these will be on sale on the day together with the new book of 16 mm scale drawings of Corris stock.
