IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE CORRIS RAILWAY... TEDDY BEARS WEEKEND AUGUST 1st and 2nd.

Once again the Corris Railway will be holding its popular Teddy Bears Weekend on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of August, and all children who arrive at Corris with their bear will have a free return journey between Corris and Maespoeth Junction.

Apart from the train ride the Railway will be offering the younger passengers games to play, competitions to enter, pictures to colour and light refreshments whilst the adults will be able to look at the progress made with the revival of the Corris line, which closed in 1948 but is now celebrating its 150th year, the sesquicentennial anniversary, and hear of the plans for the future. The Museum and Shop at Corris Station will also be open and bears will be on sale there in case the important member of the day out is left behind.

Corris Railway Society Chairman David Coleman commented “We have been running the Teddy Bears Weekend for a number of years now and it always proves a popular one with visitors of all ages. And with an evening of music and poetry at the Corris Institute on the evening of August 1st it will be a busy but enjoyable weekend for our volunteers.”
