Corris Railway concept coaches help fund southern extension. |
As the Corris Railway looks towards the next stage of its plan to expand the running line southwards along the Dulas Valley from the present railhead at Maespoeth Junction, artist and Corris Railway Society member Michael Huber has come up with a novel and collectable idea for fund raising for the Extension.
The Corris Concept Coaches offer a package whereby donors and collectors of Railwayana subscribe a minimum of £10 for a “Third Class Seat” or a minimum of £30 for a “First Class Seat”. The “seats” are limited to 450 “Third Class” and 50 “First Class”.
What purchasers receive in return for their donation is an individually numbered certificate bearing the signature of Michael Huber and also that of the Corris Railway Society President, children’s author Christopher Awdry. The “First Class” certificates are more elaborate in design and are sealed with a red ribbon. Buyers also receive a map with a full explanation of the artwork and a ticket to ride on their “virtual journey”.
And of course those who help the Corris by making this journey
of the imagination over the line will be bringing forward the date when it will
possible to perform more of the trip in reality. To make the purchase cheques
(including £1 for postage and packing) payable to “Corris Railway” should be
sent to CRS, 40 Fladgate Road, Leytonstone, London, E11 1LY.
