Monday, 29.8.2022. It was decided to investigate a slight leak and perform an amount of preventative maintenance on No. 7 today. So No. 11 was in charge of passenger services for the day.

David invites interested passengers for a tour of the Carriage Shed...

... and asks the passengers to come a little closer so that they can see the first item of interest which is the Clayton Battery Loco.

... and proceeds to tell them all about it's origins followed by the two-plank waggon which has been refurbished by volunteers at Maespoeth.

Moving along the carriage shed David gives an in depth description of the RNAD waggons, where they came from and what they used to be used for before moving on to see the progress of Carriage 24.

Then taking the passengers out of the North Door of the carriage shed David explains what th esaddle tank is there for (to collect money in donations!) and again described it's origins.

Reaching the top of the walkway and onto the North Platform at Maespoeth, this very important piece of equipment was observed - The Dunny. Positioned over a stream, this was the only facility at Maespoeth for many, many years.

Looking North on a bright clear day all the way to The Spinney.

Tuesday, 30.8.2022. Dick and Tony started on the preliminary work needed to provide an outside working area to the north of the Carriage shed. (This and remaining photographs in this sequence courtesy of John Wallbridge).

Peter walks away having cleaned washed down the water column to remove a build up of green algae.

Theo and Zak spent the day expanding the tubes of Number 7 to tackle a leak that appeared over the Bank Holiday.

John W and Tony Huckin have given a coat of preservative to the fence surrounding the Signal Box today.
