2017 Photograph Archive

Photographs taken between 28th & 30th May 2017

Sunday, 28.5.2017. No. 6 removes the vans from the Carriage Shed …
… releasing No. 9 …
… so that the Heritage Waggons can also be picked up ready to go to Corris.

The Heritage Waggons have been left in Maespoeth’s North Platform, while No. 5 drops the vans back on the headshunt …
… and No. 6 can collect the carriages and then run-round in the South Platform ready to set off with its train.
No. 7 is ready early, so Andrew takes the opportunity to take a photo …

… before heading down the “main line” to use up a bit of surplus steam – sure to be quite a sight in years to come …
… and then taking water on the loop line – another first!
Later, with a yard full of passengers, even more visitors are brought down with No. 7.

No time to hang around! No. 7 takes the vans up to Corris, with a few photographers recording the event.
Not to be out-done by No. 7, No. 11 takes a full train down the bank – and back up again …
… before running round and heading back up to Corris.

No. 7 runs round its train at Maespoeth …
… while at Corris, Bill flags in No. 6 with a train of vans …
… which is followed by No. 5 with Heritage Waggons.

No. 7 then heads south again with the vans …
… before posing with them at Maespoeth.
Later, the loco heads back with the vans to Corris ...

… where preparations are in hand to run the gravity train again …
… following which No. 7 awaits its next duty with No. 5.
Dave and Janice are manning the Museum today.

No. 6 arrives with the passenger train ...
… and after returning to Maespoeth, No. 7 prepares to run down the bank ...
… to give the driver training in starting on the steep gradient.

Monday, 29.5.2017. The last train of the day drifts down towards Maespoeth …
… with a respectable group of passengers …
… as Andrew attempts to water Stevie!

No. 7 heads back towards Corris …
… and after returning, No. 5 reappears as 7’s boiler is blown down.
Tuesday, 30.5.2017. Bob continues turning components for screw couplings …
