Interesting idea Jenny …. but there is a well established training process for progression to the level of Fireman and then Driver which is very strictly adhered to by the “OICs” (Officers in Charge) and is in line with the requirements of the ORR and other authorities. I do feel though that the video produced by John certainly gives a real flavour and feel of a trip from Maespoeth Junction to Corris Station at the controls of one of our steam locomotives.
How about “Teach your self Engine Firing” and “Teach your self Engine Driving” courses ? ! This being a tutorial!
